TheSailor Ocean Blue Special Edition has been created by Sailor master ink blender Osamu Ishimaru to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Sailor's innovative ink studio.

Since 2005, Sailor has been actively holding Ink Studio in-shop ink blending events throughout Japan. These sought after events have always been a success with customers lining up to have custom ink colours blended by Ishimaru.

Over the past 15 years, the Ink Studio event has created over 20,000 customised inks and in 2018, Sailor picked the 100 most liked colours and turned them into a.

At the event, the famed ink blender wears a barman's uniform and uses a cocktail shaker to customise inks in front of customers. The design of the 50mL bottle is inspired by this uniform and it comes with an anniversary card and ink leaflet.
